Travellers may avoid the necessity of taking a cab by having their
luggage delivered by the Parcel Deliver// Co. (Paketfahrt-Gesellschaft,
see p. 26; offices at all the large stations). For registered luggage forms
may be obtained from the guard of the train during the journey, and
after filling these up the traveller gives up his luggage-ticket in exchange
for a receipt. Luggage reaching Berlin between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. should be
delivered within 3 or 4 his., luggage arriving after 7 p.m. is delivered
before 10 a.m. the next day. Tariff: small luggage (up to 20 lbs.) 30, two
pieces 40, three CO pf., etc.; trunks up to 20 lbs. 30, 20-40 lbs. 50, 40-60 lbs.
70, 80-100 lbs. 00 pf., every 20 lbs. more 10 pf. — The Parcel Delivery Co.
conveys luggage to the station on receiving 5 working hours' notice, to¬
gether with an exact statement of the address of the sender, the number
and approximate weight of the packages, and the station and the hour of
departure. Luggage for trains starting between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. is
sent for between 6-8 the previous evening. Tariff see above; additional

London, and for the North German Lloyd); the Internationale
Reisebureau of the Sleeping Car Co., Unter den Linden 57, 58;
the Reisebureau des Westens (booking-office for New York), Pots-
damer-Str. 6; the Office of the Austrian State Railways, Unter
den Linden 47 (also agency of the Austrian Lloyd). Railway tickets
may be obtained also at several first-class hotels (see below).
Tickets for London via Flushing may be had from Brasch & Rothen-
stein, Unter den Linden 17, Mohren-Str. 33, Liineburger-Str. 22, etc.; at
the Reisebureau of the Hollandische Eisenbahngesellschaft (Hook of Hol¬
land Route), Unter den Linden 5-6, tickets are issued for London and other
English towns.

In the following list of Hotels mention is first made of the
large establishments of the highest class, all of which are comfortably
fitted up, with steam or hot-water heating, electric light, lifts, baths,
and first-class restaurants, and with proportionate charges. The
hotels in or near the Linden are the most conveniently situated for
tourists.
