127). — Billow-Strasse (PL G, 17; p. 174), Nollendorf-Platz (PL G,
13; p. 174), then (underground) Wittenberg-Platz (PL G, 13), Zoolo-
gischer Garten (PL G, 10; close to the Stadtbahn Station, p. 12),
Charlottenburg-Knie (P1.R,7; p. 182), Bismarck-Strasse (P1.R,4),
Wilhelm-Platz (PI. R,5). From Bismarck-Strasse Station an under¬
ground branch leads to the W. via the stations of Sophie-Charlotte-
Platz (PL R, 1) and Kaiserdamm (PL R, 1) to the Reichs-Kanzler-
Platz (West End; beyond PI. R, 1). — Before the end of 1908 the
underground line from the Leipziger-Platz to the Spittel-Markt will
be opened; entrances to the stations: Wilhelm-Platz and Trinity
Church, Mohren-Str. (cor. of Friedrich-Str.) and Gendarmen-Markt,
Tauben-Str. and Hausvogtei-Platz, Spittel-Markt and Spindlershof
(comp. PL R, 22,25). The trains run via Leipziger-Platz Station
(not reckoned for travellers not alighting there) or direct to their
terminal stations. — The regulations are similar to those of the
Stadtbahn. There is no 1st class; tickets on the main line 2nd class
15-35, 3rd class 10-25 pf.; trains every 3-7 minutes.
f. Electric Tramways.
The various lines of the Berlin Tramway Co. (Grosse Berliner Stras-
senbahn - Aktien - Gesellschaft) are divided into groups and numbered or
designed by large initials. The numbers and letters shewn in the list
below and on the opposite plan correspond with these official numbers.
A few lines which have no numbers are marked at p. 22 with small letters.
On certain busy routes extra cars are run, marked with an E. beneath the
route-number; these are not in our list. Cars run every 7</a min. or
oftener except when otherwise indicated. Fare 10 pf.; 10-20 pf. on cer¬
tain lines. Monthly ticket for one line 77a, for two lines 10, all lines
(except a - h) 30 -M.
The lines radiating from the chief points of intersection will be
found specially mentioned in our description of the city.
1. Stadtring: from the Rosenthaler Tor via, Schbnhauser Tor,
Prenzlauer Tor, Konigs-Tor, Landsberger Tor, Andreas-Str. (Si¬
lesian Station), Moritz - Platz, Hallesches Tor, Anhalt Station,
Potsdam Station, Brandenburger Tor, Kronprinzen-Briicke,
Oranienburger Tor back to the Rosenthaler Tor.
2. Aussenring : from the Rosenthaler Tor to the Moritz - Platz as
in No. 1; then Gneisenau - Str., Katzbach - Str. (Kreuzberg),
SchSneberg Station, Nollendorf-Platz, Ltttzow-Platz, Grosser
Stern, Hansa-Platz, Lehrte Station, Neues Tor, Stettin Station,
Rosenthaler Tor; every 74 hr.
3. Grosser Ring: from the Rosenthaler Tor via, Alexander-Platz,
Andreas-Str. (Silesian Station), Kottbuser Tor, Gneisenau-Str.,
Yorck-Strasse Station, Winterfeldt-Platz, Nollendorf-Platz, Liit-
zow-Platz, Grosser Stern, Hansa-Platz, Moabit, Wedding, Gar-
ten-Platz, and Rosenthaler Tor.
