Lost Property Offices: of the Police, especially for articles left
in cabs, at the Polizei-Prasidium, Eingang II, Room 79 (9-1 on week-days;
a list of articles that have been found is posted up); of the Railways
at the Silesian Station, N. Arch 10 (8-3 on week-days) and at the terminus
stations (p. 1; after the eighth day at the Silesian Station only); of the
Elevated Railway at Kothener-Str. 12 (10-4 on week-days); of the Tram¬
ways at Leipziger-Platz 14 (10-4 on week-days).
n. Theatres. Concerts.
Theatres. Plans may be consulted in the Berlin 'Adressbuch', or
Directory. Performances at the royal theatres and the Deutsches Theater
begin at 7.30 p.m., at all the others generally at 8 p.m. Weekly reper¬
toire in the daily papers. Seats may be procured in advance at the box
offices or at the Imalidendarik, Unter den Linden 24 (9-4.30; on Sun. 9-10
and 12-2); at Wagner's, Markgrafen-Str. 72; at Wertheim's (p. 31; 1st
floor), and for several theatres also at the Kaufhaus des Westerns (p. 31;
the three last-mentioned not for the royal theatres). In winter Sunday
afternoon performances at reduced prices are given at most of the private
theatres.
1. Royal Opera House (Kbnigliches Opernhaus; PL R, 23;
p. 58), for operas and ballets; 1574 seats. Best boxes 12 Jl, or¬
chestra boxes 10 Jl, parquet, front boxes, and 1st balcony 8 Jl,

2. Royal Theatre (Kbnigliches Schauspielhaus; PI. R, 22;
p. 121), chiefly for classical dramas; 1000 seats. Best boxes 1QJI,

3. New Royal Opera Theatre (Neues Opern- Theater, for¬
merly Kroll's Theatre; PL R, 17; comp. p. 140), in the Kbnigs-Platz;
1523 seats. Admission to the garden (concerts) 50 pf., sometimes 1 Jl.
Tickets for the royal theatres may be obtained in advance at the
ticket-offices daily 10.15-1 (booking-fee 50 pf.). In the evening the ticket-
offices are open 1 hr. before the beginning. When very popular pieces
are to be performed, a great number of the tickets are purchased by
speculators, from whom they can be obtained only at exorbitant prices.
In such cases the porter of the traveller's hotel will often be found useful
in preventing excessive extortion. — The royal theatres are closed in July
and August.
4. Detdsches Theater (PL R, 20), Schumann-Str. 13 a, for dramas
