Symphony Soire'es of the Royal Orchestra, a series of 10 con¬
certs given during the winter (generally on Frid.) in the concert-
room of the Opera House. As all the seats are taken by subscrip¬
tion, strangers are admitted to standing-room only (pit; 1 Jl).
Rehearsals (Symphony - Matinees) usually at noon on concert-days.
Philharmonic Concerts, in the Philharmonie (p. 127), Bern-
