Baths. 31
Military Reviews ('Paraden'). A magnificent military spec¬
tacle is afforded every year, at the end of May and beginning of
September, by the review of the various regiments of Guards held
by the Emperor on the Tempelhofer Feld (p. 173). Admission to
the tribunes (6000 seats; tickets at the Invalidendank, p. 27), 3 -
10^; programme 20 pf. For carriages a special permit from the
'Polizei-Prasidium' is necessary, for which visitors should apply in
good time; if no answer is received, the applicant must understand
that all space available has already been assigned. The troops,
with the Emperor at the head, march back through the Belle-
Alliance-Strasse.
Guard Mounting at the Royal Guard House (p. 59) takes place
daily at 12.45 p.m. (during the manoeuvres, at 2.45 p.m.), after
which, when the weather is good, the band plays in the Lustgarten,
near the statue of Frederick William III. (p. 63).
p. Baths.
Bath Establishments. All the following establishments have
hot and shower baths; some have swimming-baths also. Admirals-
garten-Bad (PL R, 23), Friedrich-Str. 102, near the Friedrich-Str.
Station, with swimming-bath, open from 8 a.m. (Sun. till 1 p.m.
only); 1st class hot bath 1 Jl 75 pf., 2nd class 75 pf.; subscribers
1 Jl 25 pf. & 50 pf.; Augusta-Bad, K6penicker-Str. 60-61. Both
establishments have medicinal, vapour, and Turkish baths; the Ad-
miralsgarten-Bad and its branch establishments (Friedrich-Str. 8,
Alexander-Platz 3, Luisen-Ufer 22, Liitzow-Str. 74, Paul-Str. 6,
Reinickendorfer-Str. 3) also brine-baths. — Medicinal baths: Verein
der Wasserfreunde, Koniggratzer-Str. 19; Belle-Alliance-Bad,
Gneisenau-Str. 3; City-Bad, Dresdener-Str. 52-53. — Municipal
popnlar baths, with swimming-basins: Turner-Str. 85a, at the
Schillings-Brucke, Dennewitz-Str. 24a, Barwald-Str. 65, etc.
River Baths. Flussbad, An der Stralauer-Briicke (PL R, 28;
also for ladies); Sachse (PL G, 35), at the Schlesische Briicke. —
In the inner town (water not very clear): Runge, An der Schleuse 6
(also for ladies).
q. Shops. Art Dealers and Show Rooms. Banks.
The best shops are in Unter den Linden, the Leipziger-Str., the
Friedrich-Str., and the vicinity.
